The Shahpura police have booked more than a dozen persons for creating ruckus, vandalising public property and attacking police team. The incident was reported in the Indra Nagar area of Shahpura on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday. The group had come to assault their rival and all of them were armed. However, a police team reached the scene but instead of fleeing the accused attacked them and vandalised the dial 100 vehicle of police. The entire incident has been captured in CCTV cameras. The accused were armed with swords, knives and baseball bats. Not only this, the accused also attacked the vehicle with rods and swords from all sides. Head Constable of Habibganj Police Station, Mahendra Sharma and driver Rahul Vishwakarma have sustained injuries in the attack.
They beat them fiercely before they fled after which the police control room was informed. Sharma said that we had to reverse their vehicle to save our lives as they wanted to kill us. We reversed the vehicle and then called our teams. A huge police force then reached the spot and launched a hunt for the accused. The Shahpura Police have arrested three accused who were identified as Faizal, Akash and Neelkanth. Sub Inspector Harish Gujarbhoj, the accused are residents of Vajpayee Nagar area in Shahjahanabad. They had a row with a youth of Indra Nagar Multi in Shahpura.
At around 1 o’clock, reached Indra Nagar on bikes. However, when they failed to find their target the accused started vandalising the properties at the Indra Nagar Colony. When the people of the colony informed the police, the FRV vehicle of Habibganj police station reached the spot. Head constable of Habibganj police station Mahendra Sharma and the driver were present in this vehicle. Even after seeing the police, they did not stop the violence and vandalism and rather they also started pelting stones at the dial-100 vehicle. When head constable Mahendra Sharma tried to stop them, an accused attacked Mahendra with a sharp weapon. After attacking the police, the unruly youth fled the spot. On the complaint of Mahendra Sharma, the police have registered a case against Faizal, Akash, Neelkanth and nine other youth under rioting and other sections. Three youths have been arrested while the rest are being searched.
