Newly laid third rail track Barkhera – Budhni on Bhopal – Itarsi Rail Block was approved for operation train on 75 kmph speed after the speed trial. Rail Safety Commissioner, Central Circle, Mumbai, Manoj Arora conducted rigorous inspection of new rail track of 26.50-kilometre third track on Barkhera – Budni. During the trial, Rail Safety Commissioner examined the safety and security resources, OHE Line, required equipments, signalling and other technical specifications. Thereafter, engine speed trial was conducted on newly laid third line. Expressing his satisfaction over the quality and speed trial, Rail Safety Commissioner approved the operation of train on new track on 75 KMPH speed.
 
During the inspection, DRM Bhopal, Devashish Tripathi, West Central Railway, Headquarters, Chief Administrative Officer (Construction), Manoj Kumar Agrawal, Chief Engineer (General), RK Rajput, Bhopal Division, Senior Divisional Engineer (General) and other senior officers from Rail Development Corporation Ltd, Executive Director, Chief Project Manager and other concerned officers were present. It may be noted that there are 13 main bridges, 49 small bridges and 7 tunnels have been constructed for laying third rail track between Barkhera and Budni railway stations. All the norms of Wildlife Board have been followed during the construction of third rail track due to Ratapani Wildlife Sanctuary in the adjoining areas and the area is under Eco Sensitive Zone.
 
Bhopal – Itarsi rail block under West Central Railway is one of the busy rail tracks of Indian Railway which is used for long distance trains and goods trains between North-South and East-West routes. Approval for operation of trains on third track with 75 KMPH speed will definitely improve rail transportation on Bina-Bhopal-Itarsi rail block to accelerate development in adjoining areas.
