Like Uttar Pradesh and neighbouring Chhattisgarh, the announcement of Mohan Yadav’s name as Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister has surprised many. Several factors has fuelled Yadav’s candidature for State’s top post. Since student’s life Yadav has been active in politics and joined the students’ wing of party. He has roots in RSS. He has got support from RSS. In the 2023 elections, OBC and tribal factors played a significant role. In the last 15 years, BJP has given three OBC Chief Ministers to the State. The State has 50 per cent OBC population. It has given ground in Yadav’s favour. Yadav card also holds importance in Uttar Pradesh and politics. Gwalior, Chambal, Bundelkhand and Nimar belt have dominance of this population.

As a report the country has 12 crore OBC voters. By naming Yadav as State’s Chief Minister the party has given a message that Central leadership is going to nurture a new generation of politics. He has been picked from other senior and elder leaders. Most importantly, it seems that his low profile nature has definitely given an edge to him. After the announcement of his name, celebrations began at his native Ujjain, some 54 km away from Commercial Capital Indore. Ujjain falls under Malwa belt. This ancient city beside the Kshipra River in the Central Indian is known for the centuries-old Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas.
