Hanumanganj police have arrested the key culprit and his accomplice for firing shots at a youth with pistol. Eight criminal cases are registered against the arrested accused in Hanumanganj police station. The police have also recovered that pistol used during the crime from the accused. A 38-year-old Mo Tariq, a resident of Old Kabadkhana, had complained to the police that on December 7, at around 12.15 pm, he heard the sound of a fight, so he came out of the house, where he found him in front of Raj Kirana Store. On Junkyard Road, Zaib alias Zaid and his associates were beating and abusing Tariq’s brother Mohd. Khalid. When he refused, Zaib alias Zaid took out a pistol and shot him in the stomach. Later, he was admitted to Hamidia Hospital in an injured condition.

 

On this, the police had registered an FIR against both the miscreants under sections of attempt to murder. Later, the police found that the dispute had taken place over minor abuses. When they searched for the accused, they arrested 26-year-old Jaib alias Jaib, resident of Fatma Nagar New Junkyard in front of Babul Shaadi Hall, near Junkyard Puliya. Leaving his house, he was living in a rented house near the mosque in Rambha Nagar. His other accomplices, 29-year-old Arman alias Kala and Uned alias Unni Khan, residents of Gurunanak Colony New Kabadkhana, were arrested. Country-made pistol and cartridges were recovered from the accused.

 

DCP Riyaz Iqbal said that these days the miscreants have become so afraid of the police and the administration that they have started leaving their houses and living in rented rooms due to the fear of their houses getting demolished after committing a criminal incident. Now preparations are on to register an FIR against such landlords who are renting rooms to such miscreants without police verification. Soon action will be taken against such landlords.
