BJP tries caste and regional balance: Will there be same formula for Cabinet?

 

 

 

 

After the exercise to choose the Chief Minister dragged on for a few days following the declaration of the Assembly election results on December 3, the Bharatiya Janata Party is expected to avoid delays in the induction of a State Cabinet and soon the Cabinet oath ceremony will be taken place according to the highly placed sources. Just as the central leadership of the party has surprised everyone by handing over the command of the Government to completely new faces in the State, in the same way many new surprising names can be included in the Cabinet too. Apart from the leaders close to the Sangh, some women MLAs may also get a berths in the Cabinet, keeping in mind the caste and regional equations.

 

‘The Hitavada’ got to know that the decision regarding other veteran national general secretaries of the party Kailash Vijayvargiya, Prahlad Singh Patel, Rakesh Singh, Reeti Pathak will be taken later. In a calculative move, the party has given the post of Deputy Chief Ministers and Assembly Speaker. Malhargarh MLA Jagdish Devda and Rewa MLA Rajendra Shukla became Deputy Chief Ministers. Narendra Singh Tomar, who recently resigned as a Union Cabinet Minister and Member of Parliament following his victory in the Assembly polls, has been chosen as the next Assembly Speaker. Despite Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s hard attempts in this election, the longest-serving BJP CM, has not returned to the CM’s office. Instead, the State’s top most post is being given to a relatively new face. As CM Mohan Yadav had won the Assembly seat for the first time in 2013 and also retained it in 2018. His elevation is being portrayed as an extension of the representation for the New generation and OBC factor.
