A girl was shot dead in Gotegaon, Narsinghpur and the accused has been arrested by the police. He is being interrogated and in the investigation so far, it has been described as a case of murder out of one-sided love. The incident took place late Thursday night near Sheetal Dharamshala in Sindhi Colony. According to the police, Kajal Sahu (22) was returning to her home in Gotegaon after working from Jabalpur. After leaving the railway station, she had walked a short distance when a young man named Devendra alias DK (23) shot her in the head and ran away. People took Kajal to the community health center. The doctors there declared her dead. CCTV footage of the incident has also surfaced. On Friday morning, the girl's family members staged a blockade demanding justice. They also gave a memorandum to the SDM. The protest lasted for about 6 hours and they ended the blockade after the administration assured them of action against the accused.

 

The girl's brother said that the accused has taken our sister's life, he should be given death sentence. The girl's mother said that the accused had been harassing her daughter for last two years. The daughter had complained several times and now her life has been taken away. The family members told that many times they advised the accused not to harass the girl, many a times minor altercations also took place. Even after this, the accused was not giving up chasing the girl, but because there was not much dispute, she never complained to the police. Police said - the matter seems to be a one-sided love. As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot. They searched for the accused and was arrested in the night itself. SDOP, Bhavna Maravi said that the matter seems to be a love affair.
