Sandipani successfully hosted an exhilarating ‘Inter School Read ‘N’ Grow Contest’ recently showcasing the competitive spirits of students from various schools. More than 10,000 students from 75 different schools in and around Nagpur took part in it. The contest is Sandipani’s gift to the children of the society and a sincere effort to revive the dying habit of reading. There were 5 groups - Group A (Std. I & II), Group B (Std. The very next year, it turned into an Inter School Contest. “From 2010, we started having a theme based contest with various themes. This year the theme of Read ‘N’ Grow was, ‘The Story Teller from the Hills –Ruskin Bond’,” said the press release issued by the school. The school adorned a festive look on both the days with flags, banners and posters all over, all related to books and reading.

The young reading enthusiasts that came for the competition looked joyous, curious, expectant yet nervous while others were there just to have a nice time. A play based on one of the books of Ruskin Bond, ‘Ranji – The Music Maker’ was staged as part of the entertainment programme along with portrayal of ‘Mascots’, before the students were sent to various classes for writing the questionnaire.
