Amidst speculations and unconfirmed reports, preparations are in full swing at the Balbir Singh Juneja Indoor Stadium for a potential Cabinet swearing-in ceremony. The official sources have indicated ongoing efforts for the ceremony, although no official confirmation has been received regarding the date. According to insider information, the swearing-in of the new Cabinet is expected to take place after the upcoming assembly session. The first session of the new government is scheduled to commence on Tuesday and conclude on December 21. During this period, there seems to be no likelihood of a swearing-in ceremony. On Monday, rumors circulated throughout the day suggesting that eight ministers would be sworn in on Tuesday. Some media reports even published the names of the purported ministers. However, sources reveal that the final approval from the party leadership is pending. The date for the ceremony will only be decided once the party leadership provides the go-ahead.

Despite discussions and meetings between the chief minister, his deputies, and the party president in Delhi, a final decision on the ministers is yet to be reached. A senior BJP leader confirmed ongoing deliberations and emphasised that the names are still awaiting final approval from the party leadership. Meanwhile, at the Indoor Stadium in Raipur, officials are engaged in preparing the venue for the event. However, they remain uninformed about the specific date and time of the ceremony. A senior BJP leader hinted at the possibility of unexpected inclusions in the Cabinet, adding to the suspense surrounding the upcoming event.

Sources have indicated that two ministerial berths might remain vacant until after the Lok Sabha elections. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai’s upcoming visit to Delhi on December 22 has fueled speculation about the timing of the swearing-in ceremony. Chief Minister Sai, who returned from Delhi on Monday morning, confirmed his meetings with national leaders during the visit but refrained from providing further details. The Cabinet expansion is eagerly anticipated, with a mix of experienced leaders and fresh faces expected to contribute to the state’s governance and development initiatives. The inclusion of names such as O P Choudhary and Brijmohan Agarwal is generating interest among political observers.
