EIGHT Vidarbha cricketers including India pacer Umesh Yadav will wait with bated breath when the ‘mini’ IPL Auction takes place at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai on Tuesday. A total of 333 cricketers will go under the gavel beginning at 1 pm (IST) in Dubai. Out of 333 players, 214 are Indians, 119 overseas and two are from associate nations. All Vidarbha cricketers will be hoping to get selected by one of the 10 franchises. Vidarbha’s India pacer Umesh Yadav, who has been a regular in the IPL playing for various teams, was released by Kolkata Knight Riders. His base price is Rs 2 crore, much higher than that of his other Vidarbha team-mates.

Vidarbha’s professional player Karun Nair and right-arm seamer Lalit Yadav will start with Rs 50 and Rs 30 lakh respectively as the next best in terms of base price. Hard-hitting middle-order bat Shubham Dubey, who had a brilliant Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Tournament this season and had attended trials of around five teams including Rajasthan Royals, Chennai Super Kings among others will be hoping to get picked and show his talent in the shortest format.

Second professional player of Vidarbha Delhi’s Dhruv Shorey, all-rounder Harsh Dubey and Shubham Kapse are other the players who will be eagerly waiting for the buyers. Left-arm pacer Saurabh Dubey, who was part of Sunrisers Hyderabad last season but could not get any match, was recently reported for suspect action by the BCCI. It would be interesting to see whether any team shows intrest in him. Jitesh Sharma, Athrava Taide (Punjab Kings) and Darshan Nalkande (Gujarat Titans) are already retained by different teams.
