AARAV Chhallani and Mishka Tayde emerged champions of the MSLTA NDHTA All India Ranking Championship Series (CS7) Under-14 Tennis Tournament that concluded on Friday morning at the NDHTA’s Ram Nagar courts. This was the fourth tournament of the season where NDHTA is planning to host eleven tournaments until March 2024. In the girls singles final, Mishka beat Shravari Shrirame 6-0, 6-1 to wrest the title. In the boys singles, Navi Mumbai’s Chhallani defeated local boy Ahaan Shori 6-1, 6-2 to emerge champion. It was a great tournament for Ahaan who made it to the finals after playing qualifying rounds.

 

Akshat Dakshandas and Heramba Pohane claimed the boys doubles title defeating Abhimanyu and Krishna 2-6, 6-2 (3). The girls doubles title went to the pair of Urvee and Mishka who ousted Surmayee and Shuchita 6-3, 6-3 in the final. NDHTA Vice-President Ashok Bhiwapurkar and Tournament Secretary Vijay Naidu gave away the prizes. Vishal Landge was Tournament Supervisor. The seven-day tournament was conducted by Landge under the guidance of Dr Bhiwapurkar.

 

Results: Girls singles final: Mishka Tayade beat Shravari Shrirame 6-0,6-1. Semis: Mishka beat Devashree 6-1, 6-2; Shravai beat Surmayee 6-3, 1-6, 6-4. Boys singles final: Aarav Chhallani (Navi Mumbai) bt Ahaan Shori (Nagpur) 6-1, 6-2. Semi: Aarav beat Akshat 7-5, 6-2; Ahaan beat Heramba 9-7. Boys Doubles: semis: Akshat and Heramba beat Atharv and Aarav 6-3, 6-4; Abhimanyu and Krishna beat Ahaan and Vihaan 6-4, 7-6(3). Final: Akshat and Heramba beat Abhimanyu and Krishna 2-6, 6-2(3). Girls Doubles: semis: Urvee and Mishka beat Naisha and Devashree 6-0, 6-4; Surmayee and Suchita and Ritika and Insiyah 6-1, 6-2. Final: Urvee and Mishka beat Surmayee and Shuchita 6-3, 6-3.
