Due to active weather systems in different regions, the weather is expected to remain the same in many districts of Madhya Pradesh, including Jabalpur for next few days. Western disturbances, cyclones and trough lines had already led to rainfall warnings in several districts. On Friday, the city experienced light to moderate rainfall in the morning and evening hours. As per the Weather Department, there will be a change in the weather pattern once western disturbances recede after December 8 and intense cold may begin to set in the region from December 15. Currently, fluctuations in temperatures will continue.

The Meteorological Department forecast that changes in weather will start from a day or two and there will be a decrease in rainfall activity. However, light sporadic showers may persist till December 8. After the reduction in rainfall intensity the impact of cold weather will begin to intensify and there will be a drop in temperatures. During the period, fog will be visible in morning hours. Spokesman of weather department informed that at present, there is an active western disturbance around Afghanistan, along with another cyclonic circulation in the weather of Rajasthan.

These weather systems have formed a trough extending up to southwestern Madhya Pradesh. A cyclonic circulation is also present in the upper levels of the atmosphere over northern Maharashtra. These weather systems are causing continuous moisture influx from the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea. As a result, most districts of Madhya Pradesh, including Jabalpur are experiencing rainfall. Cloudy conditions are expected to persist for the next two days. On Friday, the city received 14.8 mm rainfall. However, there is a possibility of a slight drop in nighttime temperatures and an increase in daytime temperature. The maximum temperature on Friday was recorded 24.5 degree Celsius, which was minus 3 degree to normal range while minimum was 18 degree which was 5 degree above normal. The humidity was 96 per cent.
