The 66-year-old senior BJP leader Narendra Singh Tomar started his political journey from student politics. State President of Yuva Morcha in 1996. Later, hold various positions in various wings of BJP from State President of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha to State President of the BJP. In 1977, he became the Mandal President of Yuva Morcha. In terms, electoral victory, he became Corporator in Gwalior in 1983. In 1998, Tomar entered the State Assembly after winning from Gwalior seat. Tomar was again elected from the same seat in 2003 and became a Cabinet minister in State Government. He had a brief stint at Rajya Sabha also in 2009. Later, he was elected to the Lok Sabha from Morena seat. In the 2014, he won Lok Sabha polls from Gwalior parliamentary seat and became Union Cabinet minister in the Modi-led government. In the last general elections 2019, he contested from Morena seat and retained a ministerial berth at the Centre.
