Eshal Pathan claimed twin titles during the AITA CS7 Under-16 tournament that was played at NDHTA courts in Ramnagar.
In the girls singles finals, unseeded Eshal Pathan turned out to be a giant-killer as she beat top seed Mishka Tayade 7-5, 6-0 to wrest the crown. On her way to title Pathan brushed aside the challenge from second seed Shrinmoyee Kamat and third seed Swara Javale.
Later in girls doubles, third seed Eshal Pathan and Aishwarya Swaminathan shocked top seed Shrimoyee Kamat and Swara Javale 6-3, 6-4 to claim the title.
In the boys doubles finals, top seeded Sarthak Gaikwad and Sharan Somasi shocked second seed Atharva Shukla and Devraj Mandade 6-1, 6-0 to clinch the title.
Earlier, in the semi-finals, Atharva and Devraj beat Heramba and Soham 6-2, 6-0 while Sharan and Sarthak got the better of fourth seed Rohan and Swarnim 6-2, 6-1.
The boys singles finals will be played on Friday morning between Atharva Shukla (fifth seed) and Sarthak Gaikwad (second seed).
Dr Sudhir Bhiwapurkar, Secretary, Nagpur District Hardcourt Tennis Association and Tournament Director alongwith Vijay Naidu, Tournament Secretary, gave away the trophies and certificates. Tournament Supervisor Vishal Landge and his team conducted the tournament successfully.
