Again on Saturday late evening, Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav have to rush to New Delhi from Indore, where he was in a programme. Highly placed sources said that very soon names of Cabinet ministers will be announced. The State may get its Cabinet by December 25. Following selection criteria of Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Ministers this time too, as ‘The Hitavada’ had reported earlier along with keeping regional and caste balance, upcoming Lok Sabha elections will be taken in to account and possibility of new faces in the government can’t be ruled out. Noteworthy to mention, Dr Yadav’s name was the surprise pick announced by the BJP after it was declared the winner in the state on December 3. Three time MLA Mohan Yadav was being chosen over four time Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Nine time MLA Gopal Bhargava, BJP General Secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya and Senior leader like Prahalad Patel. The 66-year Jagdish Devda will work under the leadership of 58-year-old Chief Minister Mohan Yadav. CM successfully defended his seat in the Ujjain South constituency, winning by a margin of 12,941 votes against Congress candidate Chetan Premnarayan Yadav.

Clearly indicates that the BJP banking on PM Narendra Modi's popularity for this year's polls. Attributes of thumping victory is hardly and rarely given to former Chief Minister’s popularity and welfare schemes, especially Ladli Bahna, that were being termed as game changer to counter anti incumbency. Shivraj Singh Chouhan not being named as the chief ministerial pick. There will be no surprise if the party springs another surprise in Cabinet formation. It may feature dominance of OBC and ST factor, new and young faces especially some of the MLAs who couldn’t get chance during their last tenure in Shivraj Singh led government. There is a strong possibility that in the first list, about 20 ministers may be sworn in, out of which most may get a chance to become cabinet ministers and some may get a chance to become ministers of state. Sources associated with the saffron party hints that the names which have been discussed for ministers include a few of the Scindia supporters and many others. Among women MLA names of Usha Thakur, Krishna Gaur and Archana Chitnis are doing rounds. While from Scindia camp Tulsi Silawat’s name is in the front-runner’s list along with Govind Rajput, Pradyuman Singh Tomar, Tulsi Silavat. From Bhopal Bhagwandas Sabnani, Rameshwar Sharma, Vishnu Khatri and From Indore Ramesh Mendola, Madhu Verma are among the list. Nirmala Bhuria, Ambrish Sharma Guddu, Brijendra Yadav, Divyaraj Singh, Kunwar Tekam, Sampatiya Uike, Omprakash Dhurve, Vijay Shah, Lalita Yadav, Pradeep Laria, Brijendra Pratap Singh, Harishankar Khatik, Gopal Bhargava, Devendra Kumar Jain, The names of Priyanka Meena, Rakesh Singh, Rajesh Sonkar, Rajkumar Mev are included.

All the MPs and MLAs have to go among the public with PM Narendra Modi’s Sankalp Yatra and the Minister's presence will give a push to the ongoing Yatra. How crucial this Yatra for the party can be understood with the fact that a major administrative rejig has been exercised and senior most officers have been entrusted with the responsibility to ensure implementation of government's schemes to the people even residing remotely. Discussions about the Cabinet formation were held at the residence of the party’s national President, Jagat Prakash Nadda and only on Friday evening the CM had returned from Delhi. CM’s frequent visits to Party headquarters at national capital signals increasing control over the affairs of BJPs state unit by central leadership of the party.
