Over 1,100 members of ICWCL donate blood from one institution

Members of the Indian Coffee Workers’ Co-operative Society Limited (ICWCSL), Jabalpur, celebrated the 75th Birthday of O.K. Rajagopalan, the President as well as Chief Patron of the Society as Amrit Mahotsava, on Sunday.
During the two days Amrit Mahotsav, several social service programmes with various agendas, at the place proposed for new ICH Building at Karmeta, Jabalpur. As part of the program and with a view of social works of the Society, a Mega Blood Donation Camp was organised with the coordination of the Red Cross Society of India. Members of Indian Coffee House Family enthusiastically participated in the blood donation camp.
 
This event is considered as unique due to it is held at one place, and more than 1100 members were donated blood from one Institution, within a short time. This program was witnessed and recorded by the authorities and entered the name of the Society in the World Book of Records, London, UK. Chief guest on the occasion was Telangana High Court Justice, P. Sam Koshy while Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), Sumitra Valmik, Mayor, Jagat Bahadur Singh Annu, MLA, Ashok Rohani, MLA, Ajay Vishnoi, Dr Jitendra Jamdar, former MLA, Vinay Saxena and Red Cross Society, Secretary, Ashish Dixit, Pankaj Dey and others were specially present.
 
Guests inaugurated the programme by lighting traditional lamps and extended birthday greetings towards OK Rajagopalan. Speaking on the occasion, guests applauded the contribution of Indian Coffee House in providing best quality of food and other services to the society and ensuring their contribution in providing necessary aids to needy persons. On behalf of the Society, OK Rajagopalan presented two dialysis machines and two physiotherapy machines to District Government Hospital, Jabalpur and useful materials to the old age Orphanage situated in front of the Jabalpur Medical College. Speaking on the occasion, OK Rajagopalan thanked all the guests, employees and residents for their wishes. The blood donation camp was followed by colourful cultural programmes in which traditional folk dance of Kerala remained centre of attraction for the spectators.
