VIOLENCE erupted in the Wathoda area after a speeding garbage tipper crushed a brother-sister duo to death at Bidgaon Square Friday morning. Soon, hundreds of local residents caught the tipper driver. An irate mob gave him a sound thrashing and torched the ‘killer’ vehicle. The angry residents resorted to stone-pelting. They smashed the windshields of a fire tender and police vehicles. Around 9.50 am, a garbage tipper coming at a high speed from behind mowed down the siblings, killing them instantaneously on the spot. The tipper driver tried to flee but the passers-by and bystanders blocked the tipper and bashed up the driver ruthlessly.

As the news about the tragedy spread like jungle fire in the adjoining localities, a crowd of more than 2000 citizens gathered. The irate residents blocked the roads and resorted to stone-pelting.
