Bhopal Central Jail prisoner Nadeem Khan (24) escaped from Hamidia Hospital. He was brought for medical examination on Saturday when he dodged the jail guards and fled. The incident triggered panic and police teams from nearby police stations are now searching him. Khan was part of group of six criminals who were brought to the hospital for examination but all others are in police custody. The notorious Naseem Banne Khan who had threatened to kill police inspector and was injured in police encounter was also in the group that was brought to the hospital. The Kohefiza police have registered a case and have initiated a probe into the incident.

Police said that jail doctors had sent the group for medical examination on Saturday. At 12:20 pm, he was sent to the Kamla Nehru Hospital along with jail guard Deepesh Ingle. Here his x-ray was being done when the staff asked the cop’s mobile phone as the machine was not printing the report. The guard gave his mobile for x-ray film to the Hamidia staff but when he turned back, he found Khan missing. There are 16 cases registered against him in different police stations of Bhopal. He then alerted others and then an FIR was registered.

Police said that Khan was sentenced for seven years of imprisonment in a case of attempt to murder and he was serving jail term. Cases like robbery, theft, attempt to murder, affray and assault are registered against him. He along with his partner Danish Zafar had carried out a fatal attack on their rival Hamza Bomb, who is also a notorious criminal of Talaiya police station.
