Result for all the seven seats of Bhopal constituency is declared by late Sunday evening. While five seats were bagged by the BJP, remaining two seats went to Congress’ kitty. Krishna Gaur from Govindpura constituency is the only woman MLA from Bhopal and she won the seat with a maximum margin of 1,06,335 votes which is a record in itself. Dakshin-Paschim (South and West) and Uttar (North) voted for two new MLA faces. Congress candidate Atif Aqeel, who is son of former minister Arif Aqeel has been elected as MLA for the first time from his father’s constituency. Dakshin-Paschim seat has been grabbed by BJP from the Congress as Bhagwandas Sabnani defeated Congress stalwart P C Sharma.
After result declared for all the 230 seats across Madhya Pradesh, winner from Bhopal’s Govindpura constituency Krishna Gaur (BJP) remained on second place in terms of defeating the opposition with highest 1,06,668 votes. She has broken the record of her father-in-law Babulal Gaur. While BJP MLA from Indore Ramesh Mendola remained on first position after defeating his opponent by 1,07,000 votes. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan remained on third with 1,04,994 votes and Rameshwar Sharma remained on fourth position by defeating Congress by 97,910 votes.
