Winter season is pleasant for sportspersons to enhance their endurance and increase physical stamina and strength. Sportsmen started rigorous physical fitness with onset of winter but some of them overlooked necessary precautions to avoid adverse health problems. Exhaustive physical workout without adequate knowledge can cause severe health and other physical problems which may also prove dear for sporting career of players. Sportsperson must be aware of preventive measures before exercising during peak winter season to get better physical fitness. Sports Medicine Expert Dr Sudhir Tiwari, while talking to ‘The Hitavada’ informed that winter season enhances physical working capacity and intake capacity of players. Necessary precautions like proper clothing is a significant part of physical fitness during winter season. Along with paying special attention on improving physical endurance, sportspersons should be aware of necessary precautions for avoiding severe health problems. Athletes must wear multiple layers of clothing that they can take off as they feel hot during their workout.
Thin tight clothes are better than one thick layered clothes for better insulation and better physical movement. Use of thermal tights and synthetic fibber is better to keep you dry and warm and better physical movement. Players should avoid wet clothes on body after exercise as it may cause serious health problems. Sportspersons should plan their routine physical training in consultation with their coaches and trainers for better results. Exercises should be done according to requirement of their respective sport events as there is no need to over exhaustive physical training in most of the games. Dr Sudhir Tiwari informed that there is an urgent need to take precautions in schools where students play games during sports period and entered their classes with sweaty clothes. Schools must take necessary precautions to avoid such practice for saving health of children.
