Team Axis clinches Roy memorial bridge title

 

 

 

 

TEAM Axis led by AK Das, A Nandanwar and Mulla brothers Sajid and Ali emerged champions in AN Roy Memorial Annual Duplicate Event organised by Vidarbha Bridge Association in their sports complex at Shankar Nagar. It was indeed a victory to cherish as competing from a field of 8 teams from Vidarbha region in 50 deals contest played across 5 rounds of 10 boards each, Axis scored 64.34 VP and seized the top honours. Just behind them were Playwell with a tally of 63.54 VP. Their team consisted of M Mor, N Kumra and father and son duo of Raja and Amit Rewatkar.

In IMP pairs event, competing from a field of 19 pairs, B Mohota and S Roy duo clinch top honours. VJ Puranik and S Kumra walked away with second position. Anil Mohota and Amit Rewatkar were the tournament directors for this brain game.

Bridge enthusiasts will have an enjoyable and engrossing two days of bridge this weekend, as Indian Gymkhana will be conducting Annual Open Bridge Tournament in their premises on December 9 and 10. The tournament will witness bridge players from all over Vidarbha region, competing in pairs and duplicate events. The club authorities have decided to host pairs event on Saturday at 6:30 pm, after a formal inaugural ceremony at 6:15 pm. Duplicate event will be held on Sunday at 10:15 am. Technical conduct of the tournament will be handled by Vidarbha Bridge Association. Anil Mohota and Amit Rewatkar are the tournament directors. Attractive cash prizes will be awarded to all the winners, informed Amit on behalf of the association.
