After BJP General Secretary, Kailash Vijayvargiya claimed that suspense over Chief Minister’s name will end, the Bharatiya Janata Party has appointed observers for the State to elect the leader of legislature. There are talks in political corridors that not only Madhya Pradesh, The new Chief Ministers of Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh may be named over the weekend. Even after five days of election results the party couldn’t declare the name of CM and opposition has increased attacks on this issue on BJP. For Madhya Pradesh, the party has appointed Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, K Laxman and Asha Lakra. According to BJP leader, the observers are likely to travel to the respective States to oversee the meetings of newly-elected MLAs where the future Chief Ministers will be named.
 
He added that no decision has been taken yet on the choices of the Chief Minister and the party will keep in mind social, regional, governance and organisational interests while making decisions on Chief Minister. The BJP retained power in the state with a landslide victory. It is being seen as a big boost for the party team in view of 2024 Lok Sabha elections. In the state, BJP manoeuvred to counter anti-incumbency after winning 163 seats in the 230-member Assembly. Since the poll results on Sunday, heavy weights from the State have been meeting the top party brass, including Home Minister Amit Shah and party president J P Nadda at Delhi.
 
Some of them including Kailash Vijayvargiya and State Party President V D Sharma returned to the State capital on Thursday. However, sources within the party have played down their significance, saying such meetings are routine, after party’s victory in any State senior leaders especially office bearers use to make courtesy meetings. MPs including Narendra Singh Tomar and others who have won the elections have tendered their resignations as Union ministers was accepted on Thursday. Tomar is being considered as front-runner for the CM post. Tomar and Union minister Prahlad Singh Patel, who comes from politically significant Other Backward Classes, are seen as possible chief ministerial choices along with the Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
