With the launch of new flight between Nagpur and Nashik, the city will have its air connectivity to as many as thirteen destinations within the country besides two destinations overseas. From March 15, Indigo will start its direct flight service on Nagpur-Nashik route where no direct flight is available at present. The new flight will start from Nagpur
at 9.15 am and reach Nashik at 11.00 am. Taking advantage of the increased flow of domestic and international travellers, most of the airline operators are starting flight services on new routes connecting cities like Nagpur.
Not only the connectivity of Nagpur with other cities has improved, but number of flights on some destinations has also gone up. As of now, there are 14 flights per day connecting Nagpur and Mumbai. Seven flights of Air India, Indigo and Go First are flying from Nagpur to Mumbai and same number of flights are coming back to the city every day. Flights from 6.00 am to 10.40 pm are available for the passengers going to Mumbai. The passengers returning to the city may also board flights from Mumbai from early morning to late in the evening.
Similarly, five flights are operating on Nagpur - Delhi route and the same number of flights are coming back to the city every day. Indigo and Go First are operating on the route. In recent times, Nagpur - Pune route has also seen more flights. There are five flights per day on the route and five flights on Pune - Nagpur route. Indigo and Go First are operating on the route that has seen significant rise of passengers in the recent years.
Nagpur - Bengaluru is another route which is witnessing consistent rise in number of air passengers. However, at present only three flights operating on the route. But with the launch of one more flight scheduled from February 18, the number of flights on the route will increase to four. Same number of flights will also come back to the city every day.
Nagpur-Hyderabad and Nagpur-Kolkata routes have only one flight each per day. On the other hand there is only one flight per day for passengers traveling to Indore while on Wednesday, there will two flights. On Nagpur-Ahmedabad, Nagpur-Lucknow and Nagpur - Goa routes, only two flights are operating for the passengers. One flight each per day is available for passengers on Nagpur-Chennai and Nagpur Belgaum routes.
While the city’s air connectivity with the domestic destinations has increased significantly in the recent past, there are only two international flights operating directly from Nagpur. At present, there is only one flight (only on Friday and Sunday) on Nagpur-Sharjah and one flight (only on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday) on Nagpur - Doha routes.
