HEALTH Department issued stern directives to MBBS contract Medical Officers to join their duties within two days who are absent from their duties after joining.
Chief Medical and Health Officers of several districts of State have informed the Health Department that 109 doctors are absent from their workplace after joining. The department has issued notices to all such doctors, asking them to appear within two days. Disciplinary action will be taken against the contractual medical officers who are not present at work.
According to the Chhattisgarh Medical, Dental and Physiotherapy (Physiotherapy) graduate admission rules of the Medical Education Department of the state government, the proceedings for the recovery of the entire amount of the bond against the absent doctors who do not comply with the conditions of the bond as arrears of land revenue. The No Objection Certificate as mentioned in the Undergraduate Admission Rules of the Medical Education Department will not be given to the Contracted Medical Officer until the entire due amount is recovered. The concerned Contract Medical Officer will himself be responsible for all action taken against them as per the rules.
According to the information received from the Chief Medical and Health Officer of various districts, out of 212 absent contract medical officers, 197 medical officers have registered their presence at the place of posting designated by the State Administration, and the contract amount has been deposited in the department by five contracted medical officers. The remaining ten medical officers are still absent. The concerned Collectors are directed for the recovery of the bond amount against these absent medical officers.
