While highlighting the theme of the FLW 2023, Regional Director in her inaugural address focused upon the key messages to be disseminated during the week, viz. “Saving, planning, and budgeting” and “Prudent use of digital financial services”. She mentioned that the foundation of sound financial behaviour rests on planning of personal finances and budgets enabling better financial decisions and preparing for unforeseen contingencies and emergencies. She added that given India’s G20 Presidency in 2023, financial literacy efforts assume even more significance as it can be considered a sine quo non for sustained financial inclusion and consumer protection. Digital financial services are convenient and time saving, there is always need of prudent behaviour to prevent scams, frauds, unauthorised use of data, etc.
