Although Ministers and CM’s have said that all is well in connection with the Yatra and claimed that ‘It will Continue’, a big question remains to be answered as to what has compelled the Chief Minister to call ministers from field to the State capital. This has created rounds of speculation and suspense in political corridors. ‘The Hitavada’ tried to explore more details behind this sudden and surprising step by the Chief Minister to his team. Some of them, on condition of anonymity, disclosed that environment issues will be included along with other main points in this Yatra.
After a high profile meeting between Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and BJP’s ideological mentor Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Chief Mohan Bhagwat in Nagpur, a decision was taken to ask ministers in the State to come to Bhopal. It was mandatory to attend the meeting on Sunday followed by dinner at Chief Minister’s residence. RSS chief has advocated pro-environment approach in UP also. In his statement, he emphasised upon the need of creating healthy enviroment to build a nation. Given that talks of inclusion of this issue with ongoing Vikas Yatra across the State, have got ground. Since concept of the Yatra emerged after consultation between office-bearers of the organisation and the Government. It was decided that Ministers were suppose to spend 10 days to their constituency. Through this approach, party has tried to spread to strengthen its base on ground. This will give an opportunity to cement bond between grassroot workers and ministers. At the same, public interaction will consolidate party’s position among mass.
As it was decided that ministers will publicise Government’s welfare schemes and meet beneficiary also. But, there were incidents of public outrage like throwing of etching powder over minister acrimonious heated arguments with locals etc have also given an alert to the Government to re-strategies this Yatra's agenda. It has given sleepless nights to the top leaders as these incidents are coming in light and in media.
There are indications that Chouhan used to plant a sampling every day. The Chief Minister took oath to plant saplings continuously for one year, but the drive completed two years on February 19. The issue of environment will be incorporated with his act and a new dimension will be given to the go-green attitude of the Government. Which will be spread through this Yatra, said an official. Mohan Bhagwat gave mantras to improve society for nation building on Saturday, in Bareilly. He told the volunteers that till now the Sangh has been doing the work of nation building through personality building. The effect of these efforts is starting to be seen. Now there is a need that volunteers should work unitedly to save the earth and the environment. Run the programme ‘One tree in the name of the nation’.
