During the checking of trains under RPF’s ‘Operation Aahat’ against child-trafficking, eight minor boys were rescued from Sant Hirdaram Nagar station on Wednesday. Subedar Singh, spokesperson of Bhopal Railway Division, informed,”Eight children were seen getting down from the general coach of Jabalpur-Rajkot (11466) Express at Sant Hirdaram Nagar. Assistant Sub-Inspector Bhupendra Kumar accompained with sub-ordinates head constable RK Mishra and constable Yogendra Sharma questioned them because the children did not appear to be adults.”
The children told that all of them had gone to Ujjain to do daily wages work, but due to non-payment of wages after work, they are going to their home district Bardhaman in West Bengal. All the children were found to be 15-17 years old, they did not have travel tickets.
In view of security, the information was given to the Child Help Line and the local police and the children were taken to the RPF Chowki. After this, all the children were handed over to child line representative Madhu Bodh for advance
legal action in the case with complete details of the children and for the children to reach home safely.
