RTMNU to hold its 110th convocation on April 13

The 110th convocation of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) will be held on Thursday, April 13. The University is trying to invite General Manoj Pande, Chief of Indian Army Staff or Dr T G Sitharam, Chairman of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) as chief guest for the convocation.
Confirming the above development, Dr Subhash Chaudhari told ‘The Hitavada’, “We have proposed the names of Industry Tycoon Satyanarayan Nuwal and well-known philanthropist Padma Shri Dr Prakash Amte upon whom the Honouarary D.Litt to be confered.” As per protocol, the names have been sent to Governor Ramesh Bais who is Chancellor of the universities in Maharashtra. After his approval, it will have to be passed in Senate and Management Council. After receiving all approvals, the D.Litt will be confered upon these two stalwarts in the convocation. Chancellor Ramesh Bais has also consented to remain present in the convocation, it is learnt.
The 110th convocation has its own importance in the sense, RTMNU is celebrating its centenary year, so this convocation will be a special one. Recently, it had hosted the Indian Science Congress and Indian Pharmaceutical Congress.
