A Pune-bound IndiGo flight made an unscheduled landing at Nagpur’s Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport on Thursday night due to medical emergency onboard.
According to information, the pilot of 6E-672 Ranchi-Pune IndiGo flight contacted the Nagpur Air Traffic Control (ATC) seeking permission for unscheduled landing at the city’s airport as a 73 years old male passengers complained about uneasiness. Due to medical emergency of the passenger, and following permission from the ATC, the flight made an unscheduled landing at the city airport on Thursday night. Soon after, the passenger, who was unconscious, was shifted to an ambulance and taken to KIMS-Kingsway Hospital. After some time, the flight left for its onward journey.
Aejaz Shami, Deputy General Manager (Communication), KIMS-Kingsway Hospital, told ‘The Hitavada’, “The patient was declared ‘brought dead’ at the hospital. Later, he was shifted to Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital for further procedure.”
