BILASPUR,
GRADUAL rise in deadly corona infection cases in the district has started raising eyebrows of the Health Department which confirmed that four corona patients were found in city on Friday. Three of these patients are residents of Sarkanda area while one is from Gaurav Path. Presently, there are about ten active COVID cases in district. All these were tested positive within a week after which the Health Department has started preparations to deal with the pandemic at district. According to information, Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) Dr Anil Srivastava has once again given instructions to start corona testing and tracing. At the same time, patients who have cold, cough and fever have been asked to undergo corona test in Chhattisgarh Institute of Medical Sciences (CIMS) and District Hospital on the basis of their symptoms.
The CMHO has also directed to immediately trace and collect samples of those who came in contact with the patient found infected with corona during this period. According to the Health Department, the cases of infection may spurt once again if necessary precautions are overlooked. Although the corona epidemic is still under control in the district, but even then its side effects cannot be ignored. In such a situation, people in the district have been advised to be careful regarding corona. Earlier, about four days ago, a 65-year-old woman and her 21-year-old son of Mahima Vihar on Ring Road No-2 were tested corona positive. Since then corona patients are continuously being received from this area. Five patients have been found in this area within four days. Since then, the Tracing Team is active in the area and is continuously collecting samples of those who came in contact with the patients. The Health Department has also intensified corona tests on those with symptoms. So far a total of 264 Corona tests were done in the district on Friday in which four patients were confirmed infected. “Corona situation in the district is under control. However, negligence can lead to serious consequences. Keeping this in view, preparations have already been made by the Health Department,” informed CMHO Dr Anil Shrivastava.
