Divya Pillai, a specially-abled swimmer of city, won several medals in the recently held 25th National Senior Sports Deaf and Dumb Championship. The championship was organised by All India Sports Council for Deaf at International School in Indore. In the competition, Divya won a silver and two bronze medals.
In the 100 metres breaststroke, Divya won silver medal with a timing of 3 mins and 14 secs. In 50 metres and 100 metres freestyle, Divya finished a creditable third. She completed the 50 metre race in 1 mins and 23 secs and 100 metres in 3 mins and 05 secs. Divya is a swimmer of Shark Aquatic Sporting Association and gets training from Sanjay Batwe.
Members of Shark Aquatic Sporting Association, Hanuman Swimming Club’s Prashant Ugemuge, Preeti Lanjekar, Ashwin Janbandhu, members of Tiger Group of Adventures and Krida Bharti congratulated Divya for her success.
