ST JOHN’S High School’s 1997 batch and 2006 batch clinched the St John’s Old Boys’ Friendship Cup Cricket titles the other day. In the senior’s category, St John’s High School 1997 batch defeated St John’s 1992 batch by 12 runs while in junior’s category, 2006 batch beat 2006 D batch by nine wickets to wrest the titles, respectively. The tournament was organised by St John’s Ex-Students Alumni. St John’s 1997 posted 68 runs for the loss of five wickets in 10 overs.

 

The 1992 batch managed to score 66 runs for seven wickets in 10 overs. The 2006 D batch scored 74 for seven in 10 overs which the 2006 batch achieved in 7.3 overs losing one wicket. The tournament, which started on January 15 was played every Sunday. Principal of St John’s High School Rev Father Patras Tirkey was the chief guest of the prize distribution function. Syed Kamran Ali, Vaibhav Naidu, Mohsin Patni, Swapnil Chawre, Manish Naidu, Syed Imtiyaz, Atif Jameel and others worked hard for the success of the tournament.
