CNG consumers have reasons to smile as prices of the eco-friendly fuel have seen considerable fall of Rs 9.1 per kg here in the city. HCG Nagpur Private Limited, the only company supplying the fuel in the Nagpur district, has brought down the price from Rs 109 per kg to Rs 99.90 per kg with effect from April 10. Compressed natural gas (CNG) prices have witnessed fall across the country on account of changes in its prices in the international markets. Deepak Sawant, President of HCG Nagpur Private Limited, confirmed the development and said that the new prices will increase the number of consumers in the city. He also said that the company, which is currently operating only three CNG outlets in the district, will add eight more outlets by the end of current year. “The increased number of outlets and reduced prices will help us streamline the supply of CNG,” he said.
HCG Nagpur Private Limited has been authorised by Petroleum & Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) to supply CNG in Nagpur district from February 18, 2022. HCG is a company promoted by SKN-Bentex group of Industries.
HCG group was established with the business objective to ensure safe, convenient and reliable gas supply to Nagpur district customers in automotive, domestic, commercial and industrial sectors.
The company is also planning to supply natural gas to domestic, commercial and industrial sectors through its steel pipeline network and MDPE pipeline network. Pipeline laying and gas terminal work is in progress on Khaparigandhi-Kanholibara road near Butibori to meet the increasing demand of natural gas in and around Nagpur.
It is important to note that vehicles driven by CNG show substantial increase in its mileage and do not cause much pollution to the environment and thus a large number of people were consuming it till the recent past. However, following the Russia-Ukraine war and other international factors, prices of CNG had shot up and surpassed the price of petrol. Apart from this, the market had witnessed a shortfall in its supply which eventually reduced the number of its consumers. But now the suppliers and dealers feel that conditions are favourable for the fuel. They are also eyeing good sales of the fuel as many vehicle manufacturing companies are offering CNG fuel run vehicles.
