Movement against corruption will continue:Sachin Pilot after ending day-long fast

AS HE ended his day-long fast demanding action from his own Government over cases of alleged corruption during the BJP term, senior Congress leader Sachin Pilot on Tuesday said his movement against graft will continue. He was speaking to reporters after ending the fast at the Shaheed Smarak here. Pilot sat on the fast from 11 am to 4 pm. “We had assured people that effective action will be taken against corruption by the former BJP Government in the State. I wanted theCongress Government to take action againstthecorruptionbythe formerBJPGovernment,”he said. With this, Pilot has openeda front againstChief Minister Ashok Gehlot, with whom he has been at loggerheads ever since the Congress formed the Government in the desert State in December 2018.

 

Pilot was the Rajasthan CongresschiefwhenthepartycametopowerintheState. Unfazedbythewarningof the All India Congress Committee(AICC)in-charge of Rajasthan, Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, who said any such protest against the State Government would amount to anti-party activity and go againsttheparty’s interest, Pilot launched his fast. Pilot offered flowers at the portraits of Mahatma Gandhi and social reformer Mahatma Jyotirao Phule before starting his silent protest around 11 am. “This struggle against corruption will continue,” Pilot said while leaving the venue.
