Eighteen students residing in boys ashrams in Hingum and Chhotepalli have been tested Covid positive. The children have been quarantined in hostel and are being given necessary treatment. Hingum and Chhotepalli villages fall under Bhairamgarh block. It was reported that three students who had developed a cough and cold went to the Community Health Centre in Bhairamgarh for treatment. The doctors there administered necessary treatment and conducted an Antigen test, which revealed that the students were COVID-19 positive. Following this, a medical team was dispatched to the ashrams, where they conducted a medical examination of 89 students. 15 of the students were found to be COVID-19 positive and were quarantined in the ashram.
In Surajpur, 17 students residing in Kastoorba Gandhi girls hostel have also been tested positive for COVID-19. Initially, ten students had complained of having a cough and cold and were taken to the district hospital for medical check-up. Eight of them were found to be infected with COVID-19. Following this, a health camp was set up in the hostel, and 36 students were examined. Nine of them were tested positive for COVID-19. The affected students have been quarantined in a building close to the hostel, and they are receiving the necessary medical attention.
The Block Medical Officer, Dr Sandeep Kashyap, confirmed that all affected students have been quarantined, and necessary medical treatment is being provided to them. A team of doctors is closely monitoring the students, and arrangements are being made in case of any emergency situations. The In-charge Chief Medical and Health Officer, Dr Ajay Markam, confirmed that the condition of the affected students was stable.
