Chandrapur, which is known for its high temperature during summers in the coutry, was named the world’s hottest place on Thursday with 43.2 degrees Celsius according to El Dorado Weather. Bramhapuri shared the second spot with Kolda of Senegal with 43 degrees Celsius; Wardha was at seventh position with Chauk of Myanmar with 42.2 degrees Celsius. In the list, Amravati was at the 10th place with 41.4 degrees Celsius. Nagpur too, at 41.0 degrees Celsius, witnessed the hottest day of the season so far on Thursday. Despite cloudy weather on Thursday, the maximum temperature in Vidarbha touched its peak of the season so far. Due to increasing temperature, citizens, specially senior citizens, children and those who are venturing outdoor for work, are facing the discomfort.
City roads were giving a deserted look in the afternoon as most of the people preferred to be indoor due to scorching summer heat. Those were out for work tried to keep themselves cool with the help of cotton scarves, caps and by consuming juices and cold drinks. Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) and district administration also released health advisory for citizens during this summer season and urged the people to be indoor during 12 noon to 5 pm to avoid sun-stroke or any other heat related diseases. The weather department predicted cloudy weather with thunderstorm and lightning in one and two places in all over Vidarbha including Nagpur on April 14. But the maximum and minimum temperatures will remain at higher side despite cloudy weather. Akola, Gondia and Yavatmal recorded the maximum temperature above 40 degrees Celsius on Thursday whereas Buldhana, Gadchiroli and Washim were below 40 degree mark. Like the maximum temperature, Chandrapur also recorded the minimum temperature above 27.0 degrees Celsius.

Whereas, Washim witnessed the hottest night in the country with 27.2 degrees Celsius on Thursday. Wardha (25.9 degrees Celsius), Yavatmal (25.7 degrees Celsius), Bramhapuri (25.4 degrees Celsius), and Buldhana (25.0 degrees Celsius) recorded the minimum temperature above 25 degrees Celsius on Thursday. Whereas, Akola (23.6 degrees Celsius), Amravati (22.5 degrees Celsius), Gadchiroli (20.6 degrees Celsius), Gondia (22.8 degrees Celsius), and Nagpur (23.6 degrees Celsius) recorded the minimum temperature below 23 degrees.
