The Nishatpura police have arrested four persons and have seized over 1500 kilograms of spurious detergent from their possession. Police said the accused would sell local detergent using label of Ghadi Company. The detergent was available at a lesser price say Rs 10 per kg due to which the customers were buying their stock instead of the original stock, said police. The detergent company’s management noticed a decline in sale after which they assessed reason and informed police. The team of police seized over 19 packets of detergent in the auto from Karond square on Friday. The cops brought the auto to police station and quizzed driver. He revealed names of owner and customers. The team of police reached Mandideep where the prime accused Vinay Agrawal was running the packaging unit in a rented room. The cops seized 28 sacks of the detergent.
A sack consisted of over 50 packets of 1 kg of detergent, said police. He would illegally buy packets of Ghadi Company from Delhi and would pack locally made detergent inside. He had installed a packing machine and had hired a few labourers for the same, said police. The accused informed that he would sell the detergent to dealers Ashok, Jitendra and Shivmani in Bhopal who were arrested in the investigation, said SI Dinesh Singh Chouhan on Friday.
He said that the accused would buy the local detergent to supply on the shops. The accused were aware of the reality but to earn profit they would supply the detergent on the shops, added the cop. Chouhan said that the amount of detergent they have supplied and names of their associates will be ascertained in the investigation. A large number of packets of the company was also found at the scene, said the cop.
