In an another major success for Madhya Pradesh Police’s anti-Naxal campaign, two hard-core women Naxalites were killed in an encounter on Friday night near village Kandla of Supkhar forest range under Garhi police station of Balaghat district. Both the women, Sarita, 23, and Sunita, 26, were gunned down in the sequence of aggressive tactics adopted last year. Both these Naxalites were residents of Sukma district of Chhattisgarh. Both were involved in many Naxalite incidents in the state for the last 7-8 years. Both were also involved in the encounter that took place on 6 November 2020. In Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh 11 cases registered against Sarita and 15 against Sunita.

A reward of Rs. 14 lakh each was announced jointly by the governments of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has congratulated the Hawk Force and Balaghat Police for the elimination of Naxalites in an encounter in Garhi area of Balaghat district on the intervening night of April 21 and 22. Two dreaded women Naxalites carrying a prize of 14 lakh each have been killed. Both were involved in Naxal activities for years by being members of the Naxalite Area Committee. A .303 rifles were recovered from them after an encounter with the police. Chouhan congratulated the bravehearts of Balaghat Police and Hawk Force on this achievement. Chief Minister said that, he congratulated the jawans who were involved in killing two dreaded Naxalites in an encounter with security forces last night in Balaghat. He said that it is the bravery and vigilance of our police that it is continuously eliminating the Naxalites. In the last year and a half, this was the fourth encounter courageously carried out by the Police and Hawk Force jawans against Naxalites, in which 8 dreaded Naxalites were killed. A reward of about Rs one and a half crore was declared on them.

Naxalism will not be allowed to spread in Madhya Pradesh: Chief Minister Chouhan said that we will not allow dacoits to flourish in the State, we will not allow Naxalism to spread. After SIMI, we are also eliminating the people who are involved in terrorist incidents like PFI. We will not spare the goons and miscreants who disturb the peace and tranquillity of the public, this is the commitment of the State Government. Hawk force jawans have got special encouragement: It is worth mentioning that in the year and a half Madhya Pradesh Police killed 8 Naxalites in four encounters carrying a reward of about Rs 1.5 crore. During his visit to Balaghat last year, Chief Minister Chouhan had discussed in detail with the jawans of Hawk Force about their problems and duties. Being sensitive to the issues related to the working problems of the jawans, the Chief Minister also immediately approved two types of special allowances to the Hawk Force. Enthused by this, Hawk Force jawans are dutifully carrying out continuous actions to eradicate the Naxal problem. CM Chouhan himself gave out of turn promotions to the jawans in Balaghat and encouraged them by personally meeting the families of the jawans.
