Former Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Dr Raman Singh criticised Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel’s statement that “ED is investigating the PDS case infamously called Naan scam and no one is up to the wind,” stating that Baghel is only focusing on the raids on a few individuals and not the complete proceedings of the investigation. Dr Singh was speaking to mediapersons at his residence in Raipur. Dr Singh went on to claim that he was the one who had written a letter to the Prime Minister requesting an investigation into the Naan case by the ED. He also noted that the ED had registered a case against the main accused Alok Shukla and Anil Tuteja, in January 2019 and had summoned them in March 2020. The accused were granted bail on appeal.
Dr Singh expressed his satisfaction with the fact that the central agency was investigating the case and stated that there was no scope for doubt. He also commented on the ongoing upheaval within the Congress party, claiming that the Chief Minister wants the State President to be changed, which has resulted in the party being divided into two groups.
Dr Singh also addressed the issue of the recent hashtag campaign and stated that no one is above the law, and Rahul Gandhi should apologise to the people of the country for the way he used his words. He also spoke about his party’s stance on reservation, stating that they would move forward based on the Governor’s opinion and the judicial process.
