To commemorate the solemn day, the Catholic Community took out a procession on the streets across the city, marking the journey made by Christ to Calvary for His crucifixion, on Friday. The procession began with ecumenical prayer at 7.30 am at Holy Trinity Church, then it moved to Bhanwartal garden, passing from Jabalpur Hospital, Russel Square, Rajiv Gandhi Square, Municipal Corporation Square, Bus Stand, St Norbert School and culminated in the Holy Trinity Church. Rev. Fr Thomas Machado, Rev. Fr Premanand, Parish Priest Rev. Fr Somy Jacob, Rev. Fr Antony Jacob, Rev. Fr Nitish CMI led the procession, followed by other priests, nuns and followers.
Rev. Fr Somy Jacob, in his message said, that “God works deeply in our hearts so that we may respond to His incredible gift of grace in a way that not only brings us life, but makes us channels of life to others and bring glory to the name of our Lord in whose name we pray”. He said Prayer should become a priority in life in order to have right kind of life. The Parish Priest expressed his sincere gratitude to the Police Department and the Municipal Corporation for extending their support. Those who participated in the procession include Assistant Parish Priest, youth, Parish Council Members including Bernard George, Anil Pascal, Joseph Varghese, Ravi Francis, John P Gikwad and others.
