In a major action the Jabalpur Municipal Corporation (JMC) and Pollution Control Board, on Sunday seized a huge stock of banned plastic carry bags from a godown operated at Tripal House in Chandal Bhata Transport Nagar. The civic body has realised a fine of Rs 1.10 lakh from godown operator and sealed the establishment.
Senior officials informed that the joint team of JMC and PCB took action against the operator of Tripal House. They said the godown operator was involved in the business of amassing plastic carry bags, which has been completely banned by the State Government.
During the action, officials recovered 62 bags of banned plastic carry bags. The officials made Panchnama on the spot
and sealed the godown. Later, they also realised a fine of Rs 1.10 lakh from the godown operator. Health Officer Bhupendra Singh informed that the Municipal Corporation and Madhya Pradesh Pollution Control Board have constantly been taking against the businessmen, shopkeepers who buy, sell, collect and use banned plastic bags within municipal limits. He said the civic body would continue the drive and take strict action against those involved in such illegal act. Those conducted the drive were Chief Sanitation Inspector Dharmendra Raj, Ravindra Thakur, Santosh Gaur, Atul Rackwar, Sanitation Inspector Kodulal Ahirwar, Aman Chourasia, Vijay Kumar Yadav of Gohalpur Police Station, Vipin Yadav and others.
