Despite unseasonal rains disrupting the work, the laying of synthetic track at Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University’s (RTMNU) Ravi Nagar Sports Complex, will be completed in time. Rains in the past one week has, to some extent, disturbed the schedule but the Malaysian experts, who are in the city for the past one month, are working hard to finish their work in time. On Friday morning, the last layer of red granules were sprinkled on the adhesive chemical on the track. Almost entire 400 metres of track work is completed and only a few patches were left which were completed on Saturday.
“The marking of the lanes will begin in a week’s time. For that, separate set of Malaysian expert will be in city. They will measure the entire track and then mark the lanes,” said Dr Sharad Suryawanshi while talking with ‘The Hitavada.’
Dr Suryawanshi was satisfied with the progress of the work despite unseasonal rains.
“We are on time. Though the rains disturbed the schedule a bit but the work is being carried out perfectly. There were some hic-ups but those are solved in time,” added Suryawanshi. “This all became a reality only because of the support of Vice-Chancellor Dr Subhash Chaudhari. He was of great help and always encouraged us,” Dr Suryawanshi said while thanking the university head.
