VIDARBHA boys garnered three points by virtue of registering first innings lead over Uttarakhand in their opening group league match of the U-14 Raj Singh Dungarpur Trophy (Multi-Day) that concluded in Meerut on Tuesday.
Batting first after winning the toss, Vidarbha rattled up a handsome 377-5 in 96 overs before declaring their first innings.
Openers Kush Sharma (117, 186b, 4x24) and Manav Wakode (68, 133b, 4x11) added 165 runs for the first wicket in 46.5 overs before captain Jayesh Kumbhare (83*, 152b, 4x15) and Krish Sonkusre (79, 99b, 4x15) joined the run feast.
Vidarbha boys then dismissed Uttarakhand for 257 in 86 overs to earn a healthy 120-run first innings lead as the match ended in a draw. Jayesh bagged 3-43 while Krish picked up 2 wickets for 26 runs to ensure three points for his team.
Six teams from Central Zone — Vidarbha, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand and Rajasthan — are taking part in the tournament.
