‘I was expecting 95%, got 98.2%’

Omprakash Barik, a student of School of Scholars, Atrey Layout, became the probable city topper in Science stream of CBSE Class XII examination here on Friday. Omprakash scored 98.2 per cent marks in the examination. He scored 99 marks in English, 99 in Physics, 99 in Biology, 97 in Chemistry and 97 in Physical Education. “I never expected to score 98.2 per cent marks in the examination. I was expecting around 95 per cent as I started preparation just two months before the examination,” said Omprakash. “Consistency in study, hard work and proper planning helped me to score this marks. I got good support from my school teachers during preparation,” said the probable topper.
Omprakash’s father Gagan Behari Barik is a Central Railway employee and mother Geetanjali Barik is a home maker. A lone child of his parents, Omprakash is dreaming for MBBS from a reputed college of the country.
“I gave the NEET exam recently and waiting for the results. I want to do my MBBS from AIIMS Delhi,” said Omprakash. Sharing the credit with parents, Omprakash said, “They always stand with me and my success is also just because of them. Now they are happy with my performance.”
