In a tragic incident, two youngsters met watery grave into river Narmada at Dadda Ghat under the jurisdiction of Tilwara police station, on Sunday. The deceased have been identified as Atul Shiv Patel (24), son of former Rural President BJP and Anurag Rajesh Lodhi (23), both were residents of Andhua by-pass.
According to Tilwara police, they received information of drowning of boys into river Narmada at Dadda Ghat. Learning about the incident, a police team along with the divers reached the spot and started a rescue operation. Continuing a thorough search, divers pulled out the bodies of two boys named Atul Patel and Anurag Lodhi from some distance from the incident was reported into river Narmada. The bodies were sent for post-mortem after conducting Panchnama at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College and Hospital.
In further investigation, police learnt that the deceased along with their group of friends went for bathing into river Narmada at Dadda Ghat. Meanwhile, Anuraj Lodhi reached at deeper part of the river and drowning into the river. Witnessing the incident, Atul Patel tried to rescue his friend but he also swept away with him into the river.
Learning about the incident, a large numbers of residents, family members and BJP leaders and workers reached the spot and mourned the untimely death of boys. Tilwara police have registered intimation while further investigations are underway to ascertain reason behind the death of the youths.
