MEDICAL Representative Cricket Club’s (MRCC) Nayan Chavan hammered first double ton in 11th edition of the Late Dr MN Dorairajan Invitation Cricket Tournament at Central Railway Ground on Tuesday. Electing to bat in their league match against Anurag Cricket Club Kamptee, skipper Chavan remained unbeaten on 206 that came from 196 balls and contained 18 fours and nine sixes.

 

Three of those biggies came in the last over bowled by rival captain Pawan Chandel. In company of opener Siddhesh Wath (152; 188b, 26x4, 1x6), Chavan added 216 runs for the second wicket partnership as the team amassed 448-3 in 80 stipulated overs. Of the nine bowlers used by Chandel, Lavesh Awatramaney (1-49), Prateek Tabhane (1-60) and Tauseef Ahmed (1-167) picked one wicket each. Adhyayan Daga 108 hit a hundred as Eleven Star Cricket Club scored 294 before being all out in 79.1 overs against Indian Gymkhana. Pravin Rokade returned with a six-wicket haul as Reshimbagh Gymkhana bowled out Central Dhantoli Cricket Club for 234. All India Reporter skipper Kshitiz Dahiya came up with an all-round show in their match against Advocate XI Cricket Club at Jamtha. Dahiya, who had taken five wickets in both innings in the previous game, once again took five wickets with his medium pace as AIR shot out Advocate for a meagre 76 in 24.3 overs.

 

With the willow, Dahiya topscored making 74 from 88 balls hitting ten fours and two sixes. He was ably supported by Akash Kombe (72*; 76b, 7x4, 3x4) and Siddharth Koli (50).
