NAGPUR’S powerlifter Rashmi Iyer did the city proud by winning two bronze medal in the recently held WPC National Powerlifting Championship which was held at Bengaluru in Karnataka. The competition was organised by World Powerlifting Congress (WPC), Karnataka State Powerlifting Association at Relentless Fitness Centre Bengaluru. Rashmi, 35, who trains at Millennium Gym in Nagpur, had to participate in the higher weight category (67kgs) as her weight was extra by 300 grams. Despite playing against her senior opponents Rashmi didn’t disappoint and won two bronze medals.

Over 150 participants from all over India including men and women participated in the competition which had 37 female powerlifters. In her weight category (67.5 kgs), 13 women participated. Rashmi won the bronze medal in Complete Powerlifting and Single Deadlift and Benchpress events.
