Police have solved blind murder mystery of a woman and nabbed the accused within 48-hours of incident was reported. The woman was brutally killed by a woman following her illicit relations with her husband.
The arrested has been identified as Uma Bai (35), wife of Bholu Barman, resident of Paudi Khurd village in Belkhera.
Superintendent of Police, Tusharkant Vidyarthi (IPS) disclosed this while addressing a press conference, on Friday.
It may be noted that, on May 24, the body of an unidentified woman was found at Choudhary Mohalla on near Government College road. Learning about the incident, a police team reached the spot and started investigation into the case. Postmortem report confirmed that the woman was strangulated by unidentified person. Taking a serious note into the case, SP, TK Vidyarthi constituted a team under the supervision of Additional SP (Rural), Shivesh Singh Baghel and SDOP, Patan, Sarika Pandey.
Investigating the case, police team led by SHO, Patan, Surendra Singh identified the deceased as Preeti Barman (30), resident of Paudi Khurd in Patan. In further investigation, police learnt that the deceased was married with Hari Om Barman of Dalpatpur village 9-years back. She has a daughter of 7-years. She was separated from her husband and lived at her parental house since last 5-years and has illicit relation with Bholu Barman since 3-years. Bhulu was married and his wife named Uma Bai always objected him for relation with another woman.
Following the illicit relation of her husband with Preeti Barman, Uma Bai decided to kill Preeti and took her for some work in Patan where she strangulated her. Police detained Uba Bai who tried to misguide the police but later she broke out and confessed the killing of Preeti Barman following her illicit relation with her husband. On her identification, police have retrieved the bag and mobile handset of the deceased. Patan police have registered a case under Section 302 of IPC and produced the accused before the court. The accused has been arrested by police team led by SHO, Patan, Surendra Singh comprised of SI, RS Upadhyay, Akash Deep Sahu, Pradeep Tomar, Neelam Rathore, Constables, Hemendra, Pradeep, Prakash, Dinesh Meena, Crime Branch’s ASI, Ajay Pandey, Constables, Ranjeet, Cyber Cell’s Head Constable, Amit Patel.
