RAIPUR,
Speaking on the Supreme Court’s interim decision on the reservation, Chhattisgarh BJP’s former President Vikram Usendi, BJP National Working Committee member Lata Usendi and former Minister Chandrashekhar Sahu said that BJP fully supports the Supreme Court’s interim relief given on 58 per cent reservation.
BJP leaders stated the Supreme Court decision validated the BJP Government’s policy on 58 per cent and the Congress has double-faced politics in this matter has also been exposed to people. The Supreme Court has given go ahead with the Reservation Amendment Act 2012 containing 32% reservation for Scheduled Caste implemented during the BJP regime was declared null and void by the High Court after hearing the petition filed by conspiring Congressmen. This is an ideological victory of the BJP. Now Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel should also understand that he is not above the Constitution. BJP Leaders stated BJP’s policy is not motivated by cheap politics and is really about providing justice to the underprivileged. BJP drafted the law after discussing all the Constitutional provisions. On the contrary, Congress drafted the reservation bill under the policy of ‘divide and rule’, only to create differences in the society. BJP leaders recalled, saying that we all know that Congress leaders Padma Manhar and KP Khande went to the High Court and got the reservation for tribals null and void. Similarly, Congressman Kunal Shukla went to the High Court and got the reservation for other backward classes cancelled in the Congress Government.
While the Congress government rewarded Khande for opposing reservation by making him the Chairman of the Commission, Kunal Shukla was made the chairman of the Kabir Shodhpeeth. Such a double character can only be of the Congress. BJP leaders alleged that the Congress deliberately weakened the case in the High Court. The government did not present her side properly in court. In this way, Congress has continuously cheated the deprived sections. The BJP Scheduled Tribe Morcha fought from the beginning to ensure that the reservation act set aside by the High Court should not affect jobs and other education facilities. Bhupesh Government avoided going to the Supreme Court against this decision due to the obstinacy of the Chief Minister, and when other tribal organisations approached to Supreme Court against this decision the High Court and got a notice issued against the state government, Bhupesh Government did not even file a reply to the notice. During the hearing in the Supreme Court, senior Congress lawyers were seen taking the matter for further dates every time.
On April 19, 2022, BJP ST Morcha wrote a letter to Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, warning him to present his case in the Supreme Court in a proper legal way, and said that if relief is not given, ST Morcha along with various tribal organizations will fast unto death at Jaistambh Chowk. After this warning, Bhupesh Sarkar woke up and requested an urgent hearing in the Supreme Court on April 25, 2023. Supreme Court kept the 58% Reservation Act of the BJP rule on May 1. If the Congress government had tried, this decision could have come only in September 2022, but there is a malaise in the intention of the Congress on the issue of reservation.
