Durg Collector Pushpendra Kumar Meena has given instructions to terminate the service of psychiatrist and dermatologist working in District Hospital, Durg. Complaints were being received against both of them for a long time that they leave OPD duty in between. To know the truth of the complaint, the Collector himself made a surprise inspection of the hospital. When he found that both the doctors were absent from OPD duty, he ordered the termination of their services. It needs a mention that Collector Pushpendra Kumar Meena conducts surprise inspection of District Hospital Durg after receiving complaint on Monday.
During the inspection, specialists were found available in Ortho OPD, Surgery OPD, ENT OPD, Eye OPD and Medicine OPD while specialists were not found available in mental OPD and skin OPD. In the mental OPD, the Collector inquired from the staff regarding the coming and going of specialist in the OPD, it was told that psychiatrist Dr Aanksha Gupta Dani is serving here. Ever since she attends OPD every day between 10:00 to 10:15 and leaves OPD between 12:00 to 12:15 and does not come to OPD in the evening. Similarly Dermatologist Dr Pooja Pandey was not available in Dermatology OPD. In relation to which the Collector asked the staff present in the OPD about the time of her arrival and departure on which he was told that the dermatologist Dr Pandey attends OPD every day after 09.40 and leaves OPD at 12.00 noon. Also, she does not attend OPD in the evening and non-EDL medicines are written in patients’ slips which are asked to be purchased from a prescribed medicine shop. After this Collector issued instructions that all the experts / medical officers have to mark their attendance on the biometric machine. Instructions have been given to pay salary only on the basis of generator report by biometric machine.
