The firm dedication of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Sports Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia and MLA Ashok Rohani has brought about a notable achievement in the form of a state-of-the-art 400-meter synthetic track behind the Government Jabalpur Engineering College in Ranjhi. This development promises a multitude of benefits to athletes and sports enthusiasts alike.
MLA Ashok Rohani along with senior officials conducted inspection of the site. Speaking on the occasion he said the project encompasses more than just the synthetic track. Additional sports provisions have also been included in the centre’s design, with dedicated facilities for football and javelin throw. These provisions ensure that athletes have access to a comprehensive range of training options.
He said one of the key features of this project is the construction of an eight-lane athletic track that surrounds the various sports amenities. This track, built to international standards, will provide athletes with a top-notch training environment. The estimated cost of the track and the associated facilities is about Rs 7 crore, reflecting the commitment to delivering high-quality infrastructure. Rohani said the ambitious project is expected to be complete within the next two months and once finished, it will be made available to all athletes. Acknowledging the importance of supporting the coaches and players, he said plans are underway for construction of a hostel building, a technical building and an archery range. These facilities will serve as an essential resource for the coaching staff and athletes, providing them with a favorable environment for learning, practice and development. The timeframe of 11 months have been fixed for the project and it will be executed with an estimated cost of Rs 15.38 crore. Rohani said bhoomipujan ceremony for the project is scheduled to take place soon.
